Colson Smith, known for his role as Craig Tinker on the ITV soap Coronation Street, has opened up about his recent hair transplant. The actor began experiencing hair loss at the age of 22 and decided to take action.
Now 26, Smith shared his experience on Instagram, posting cheerful photos that featured him holding a “Mr. Hair Transplant” mug and giving a thumbs up. In his caption, he explained, “On Monday, I had a hair transplant. This has been on my mind since I first noticed my hair loss at 22.”
He continued, “Losing my hair at such a young age has been difficult to accept. I feel so much better and more confident now that I’ve taken a step to regain my luscious strawberry blonde locks.” Smith added that he was excited for a future without “comb overs and baseball caps” and looked forward to having a “cracking head of hair.”
His post received positive feedback from fans. One follower, @lizziephil18, praised him, saying, “Good for you and for helping others by being open about it. You are an absolute inspiration and should be hugely proud of yourself.”
Tina O’Brien, who portrays Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, also showed her support, commenting, “Go in Colson! Good to see you so happy.”
Colson Smith has been part of Coronation Street since 2011. Earlier this year, he finished third on the ITV revival of Celebrity Big Brother, trailing behind Strictly star Nikita Kuzmin and Ibiza Weekender representative David Potts. During his time on the show, he had a notable disagreement with Reggae Reggae Sauce creator Levi Roots, who criticized his behavior as “boring.”
After leaving the Big Brother house, Smith returned to Coronation Street, where he is currently involved in one of the show’s biggest storylines of the year.
