Chloe Locke, the owner of a new hair salon, wants her customers to leave feeling “loads better.” Her salon, called The Deben Retreat, will open on High Street in Debenham at the beginning of November.
Ms. Locke expressed a mix of excitement and nervousness about running her own business, but she is eager to get started. She stated, “I want people to come in and go out feeling loads better.”
A recent report from the British Beauty Council revealed that the personal care industry grew by 11% in 2023, reaching £27.2 billion. It is projected to grow an additional 3% in 2024. Despite the cost-of-living crisis, Ms. Locke believes women are “trying their hardest to save” to feel good about themselves.
In her salon, Ms. Locke will be joined by two colleagues who will manage the beauty services. She shared, “I’m nervous, excited, and everything in between.”
