A video circulating on social media shows a Cuban woman in a heated argument with staff at Yanka’s Hair Extensions salon in Miami. The altercation occurred after the woman refused to pay the $1,200 fee for her hair extensions. In the video, the woman can be heard saying, “Hey, leave me alone, you’re not my mom or dad. I had every intention of paying because I have money. How can you say I don’t?” She is surrounded by three salon employees.
One employee attempted to call the police, leading the woman to try and grab the phone before leaving the salon. The staff had insisted that she must remove the extensions if she wasn’t going to pay.
In a follow-up video posted by the salon’s Cuban owner, she shared her side of the story. The owner admitted she had a bad feeling about the client from the start but remarked, “You can’t judge people by their appearance.” She explained that the woman caused a scene when it was time to pay, which led to the viral video.
Owner’s Reaction
The salon owner expressed her disappointment, stating, “It’s very sad that we are trying to move forward and these shameless people attempt to steal from us for a hair service. It’s not medicine or food; it’s hair extensions, a luxury, not a necessity.” She noted that the incident was “very sad” and hinted that it wouldn’t end there. “She got what she deserved,” the owner said, though she did not confirm whether she had filed a police report. “Anyone who comes to my salon to mess with me, I will defend myself. We work too hard to get ahead,” she added.
The owner also encouraged other business owners who have faced similar issues to share photos of scammers on her social media. “The fight won’t be easy. It’s very sad that you are trying to get ahead in this country, paying your taxes, and then someone comes to rob you,” she concluded.
