On Saturday, Monique Rodriguez, CEO and founder of Mielle Beauty, addressed the recent backlash her brand has faced regarding alleged hair loss from its products. In a video posted on social media, Rodriguez responded to customer complaints about hair damage attributed to the rosemary and mint oil. She assured her audience that there have been no changes to her role or the product’s ingredients.
Rodriguez expressed her gratitude to supporters and emphasized that Mielle Beauty is the result of her deep passion for hair care. In her Instagram video, she explained her decision to partner with Procter & Gamble (P&G), saying it was driven by her vision to elevate Mielle to a global beauty brand. She reaffirmed that this vision remains strong and thanked the partnership for expanding their reach and impact.
Addressing the concerns, Rodriguez stated that there have been no changes to the product formulas. She encouraged customers to compare the current ingredients with those from before the P&G partnership was announced in January 2023.
Rodriguez’s statement follows a viral video by a beauty expert who claimed that Mielle’s rosemary and mint hair oil was linked to hair loss. The expert’s video highlighted numerous complaints from users about scalp irritations, hair loss, and breakage, attributing these issues to potential formula changes after Mielle’s acquisition by P&G.
