TV presenter Maya Jama has revealed a fresh new look, showcasing a short, curly bob. Known for her signature long hair, Maya decided to embrace a shorter style for the autumn season and has been flaunting it on her Instagram Stories throughout the week.
In one of her recent posts, Maya shared her thoughts on the change, referring to her new hairstyle as her “little fluff.” She admitted she has grown accustomed to the style, saying, “It will feel strange when my hair grows long again.” She added, “So free with it… maybe she stays,” hinting that the look might be here to stay.
However, Maya’s hair transformation isn’t the only significant change in her life. In mid-July, she announced her second breakup with rapper Stormzy. The couple, who first began dating in 2014, broke up in 2019 but decided to give their relationship another try in August 2023.
In a joint statement, the pair explained: “We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years navigating life apart. We decided to try for the final time in August 2023 and have spent the past year doing our best to make it work. However, we’ve recently decided to part ways.”
Despite the breakup, Maya and Stormzy emphasized their continued mutual respect and friendship: “We still think the world of each other, we still care and respect each other, and we are grateful for the time we’ve had together. We will always remain friends.”
Amid these personal changes, Maya has also ventured into new territory professionally. She has taken on the role of producer for the play Shifters, currently showing in London’s West End following its earlier run at Shepherd’s Bush.
“I fell in love with the play as soon as I read it,” Maya shared. “I feel like I know these characters and their story. It’s also incredibly important to see yourself represented in art, and that’s what makes this project so special.”
