Cabello Hair and Beauty, located on Newland Street in Witham, has clinched six prestigious national beauty awards, including the coveted Hair Salon of the Year title for the sixth consecutive year. The accolades were presented at the British Beauty Awards 2024 earlier this month.
Owner Kat Berale, 46, who has been a hairdresser for two decades and has led Cabello Hair and Beauty for nearly ten years, expressed her elation. “Winning Southeast Hair Salon of the Year for the sixth time and securing gold this year is incredible. I’m absolutely over the moon,” Berale said.
The salon’s stylists showcased impressive portfolios and ‘before and after’ photos to compete in their categories. Berale herself won gold for the national Best Marketing award. Stylist Emily earned silver in the Rising Star category, competing against talent from across the UK. Jessica secured silver for Stylist of the Year, while Diane took gold for Colourist of the Year.
Berale highlighted the significance of these awards for attracting new customers. “These accolades affirm our reputation as a top salon. They show that we are consistently delivering high-quality work,” she noted.
Cabello Hair and Beauty also received bronze for Top-Rated Salon of the Year, a recognition based on customer reviews. “A Google review is incredibly valuable for any business, and they mean everything to us,” Berale said.
Known for its vibrant decor and diverse beverage offerings—including classic cocktails, mocktails, milkshakes, vegan drinks, and tea and coffee—the salon is gearing up for its ten-year anniversary in December.
“I’m most proud of our enduring eco-salon philosophy and the strong relationships we’ve built with our customers and the community,” Berale commented. “The challenges of the past few years, including the impact of COVID-19 and high expectations fueled by social media, have been tough. Despite this, we’re busier than ever and eager to welcome new and experienced stylists to our team.”
