Bengaluru Woman’s Hair Loss Complaint Ignites Online Debate and Humor

by Barbara

A Bengaluru woman’s complaint about severe hair loss linked to the city’s hard water has sparked a lively discussion on X. Amisha Aggarwal, a software engineer at Google, voiced her frustrations online, suggesting that switching to RO water for hair washing might help prevent further loss. She also asked for recommendations on water-softening solutions.

Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair joined the conversation, humorously pointing out that he hasn’t experienced hair loss despite using Cauvery water. Aggarwal speculated that her hair might still be adjusting to Bengaluru’s water and weather conditions. This led to a flood of responses from users sharing their own experiences with water quality affecting their hair.

One user, Sinfan, noted that high TDS levels in Bengaluru’s water had caused premature graying and compared it unfavorably to well water from his hometown. Others from cities like Hyderabad and Delhi voiced similar frustrations with water quality impacting their hair health. Akshansh Mahendra commented that cities like Delhi and Hyderabad also face significant water issues, unlike Mumbai and Guwahati.

In response, some users suggested solutions, including a patented water-softening showerhead and a water purifier designed for bathing. One user humorously suggested that hair loss might be part of the city’s “CTC” (cost to company), while another reflected on their receding hairline as a memento from their college days in Bengaluru.
