KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) — Head Quarters Barber Salon and Suites recently held its third annual Back to School Supply & Service Drive, providing students with free school supplies and haircuts.
The event, started by salon owner Ryon’e Winters in 2022, offers free haircuts and hairstyles to local children. This year, the salon, recently honored with a Kansas City People’s Choice Award, was bustling with kids ready for their back-to-school preparations.
Winters emphasizes the importance of starting the school year with a fresh look. “It’s the first time you’re meeting new kids, teachers, and everyone else. Looking good and feeling confident can make a big difference,” Winters said.
On his Facebook page, Winters announced his plans to continue the event annually, believing that a new haircut or hairstyle can significantly boost a child’s confidence. “A good haircut can enhance self-esteem, especially when making first impressions at school,” he added.
