Colson Smith, known for his role as PC Craig Tinker on Coronation Street, recently shared that he is adjusting to his new look after undergoing a hair transplant. The actor had the procedure after noticing his thinning hair several years ago.
Last week, Colson confirmed the hair transplant by posting a smiling picture of himself. The image showed him with a different hairstyle, featuring a shaved front and some of his red hair remaining at the back.
Colson explained his decision to undergo the transplant to his fans. “Slightly different to my usual hairstyle… On Monday, I had a hair transplant,” he said. “I wanted this since I first noticed my hair loss at age 22. Losing my hair at such a young age was tough. Now, I feel much better and more confident as I take a step toward getting back my strawberry blonde locks.”
He continued, “When I met @bessamfarjo in 2023, he helped me understand my hair loss and the future of my hair. I feel lucky to be on this journey with such a talented and friendly team in Manchester. @farjohairinstitute.”
Colson concluded his post with enthusiasm, “No more comb-overs and baseball caps. Here’s to having a great head of hair in the future!”
The 25-year-old actor has been recovering at home and provided an update on Wednesday (July 24). Sharing a picture of his bed, he wrote, “This has been my transplant recovery spot [crying emoji]. It’s been nice to switch off, enjoy my house, and catch up on life admin. But I’m ready to get back to running and learning lines now…”
He also shared a mirror selfie, showcasing his shaved head. Alongside an egg and a bald man emoji, Colson wrote, “Getting used to it.”
