Actress Mouni Roy, eagerly anticipating the release of her debut streaming series ‘Sultan of Delhi,’ is thrilled about her role that demanded a remarkable transformation. This highly stylized character required her to explore an extensive wardrobe and undergo dramatic changes in her hairstyle.
In ‘Sultan Of Delhi,’ adapted from Arnab Ray’s book ‘Sultan of Delhi: Ascension,’ Mouni will transport viewers to a retro era, exuding classic charm with her elegant dresses and distinctive hairstyles. This larger-than-life mass entertainer, tailor-made for streaming, boasts an ensemble cast featuring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anjum Sharma, veteran actor Vinay Pathak, and Nishant Dahiya, along with talented actresses Anupriya Goenka, Harleen Sethi, and Mehreen Pirzada.
When discussing her character’s appearance, Mouni shared her excitement, saying, “Who doesn’t relish the opportunity to undergo a glamorous transformation? Playing Nayantara in ‘Sultan Of Delhi’ allowed me to explore a wide range of styles and color palettes throughout each episode. Discovering the perfect look for this character was a meticulous process, involving over 200 outfit changes and numerous hair experiments.”
She continued, “After experimenting with more than ten test looks, we eventually achieved the desired appearance. Nayantara’s presence injects a dose of glamour and sparkle into the storyline, each in its unique way. This marks my first foray into the 1960s era, and I’m eagerly anticipating the audience’s reaction to this new facet of my acting.”
