Surrey’s cricket captain, Rory Burns, is bidding farewell to his trademark flowing locks, all in the name of charity. His hair, now an impressive 14 inches long, will be transformed into a natural wig by the Little Princess Trust. This organization offers real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young individuals who have experienced hair loss due to cancer treatment or conditions like Alopecia.
In addition to his hair donation, Burns managed to raise £743 for the charity to cover the costs of crafting a wig for a young recipient. Astonishingly, he achieved this target within just 24 hours, thanks to the unwavering support of the cricket community.
Having achieved this remarkable feat, Burns is now reaching out to Surrey fans and members, inviting them to support his cause by making donations to Dravet Syndrome UK in honor of Florence Dunn.

Rory Burns, the Surrey Captain, shared, “After numerous requests, I’m pleased to announce that I am finally getting a haircut! The Little Princess Trust makes an incredible impact on young people who have lost their hair, and I’m delighted that my hair will contribute to such a noble cause. In addition to raising funds to create a wig for a child, I wanted to support Dravet Syndrome UK, which has been a pillar of support for the Dunn family over the past few years.”
