Susanna Reid has sprung a delightful surprise upon her return to Good Morning Britain.
The 52-year-old broadcaster has shed her familiar shoulder-length locks in favor of a strikingly shorter hairstyle – a change that has left admirers awestruck!
Taking to the revamped social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening, Susanna shared a mirror selfie showcasing her fabulous transformation.
In her caption, she playfully quipped, “NEW SEASON, NEW VIBE! Back @gmb tomorrow with @edballs. Can’t wait to catch up with you all from 6 am.”
Adoring fans eagerly chimed in, showering Susanna with compliments. One enthusiast exclaimed, “Susanna, you’re positively radiant!” while another chimed in with, “This look is simply mesmerizing! X.”
A third well-wisher added, “Looking utterly fabulous – it truly suits you, x.”
Susanna rejoined the Good Morning Britain team on Monday after an extended hiatus, and she was joined by Ed Balls as her co-host.
Delighted viewers swarmed to X to express their elation at Susanna’s much-anticipated return. One fan joyfully tweeted, “Getting out of bed is now a pleasure with Susanna back in the fold,” while another commented, “Welcome back, Susanna – your new look is perfection!”
During her sabbatical, Susanna maintained a relatively low profile on her social media platforms. However, in August, she shared a poignant Instagram post commemorating the passing of her dear friend, Suki Thompson, who succumbed to cancer.
Alongside a photo of the funeral program, Susanna penned a heartfelt tribute in the caption: “Our beloved friend, Suki Thompson. A paragon of strength and optimism. A testament to embracing life to the fullest. Rest in peace, dear.”
Supportive followers, including her co-host Charlotte Hawkins, promptly extended their condolences. Charlotte wrote, “Oh no, this is heartbreaking news. My deepest sympathies, Susanna. Suki was a truly extraordinary soul. Sending love.”
GMB viewers will undoubtedly recall Suki, who made a notable appearance on the program in July to share her journey battling melanoma and to advocate for melanoma awareness. She courageously participated in an interview from her hospital bed in Perranporth, Cornwall, engaging with Susanna and her co-host Martin Lewis, who were stationed in the studio.
Commending her friend during the interview, Susanna remarked, “What truly sets you apart is your indomitable spirit, your unwavering and inspirational positivity. You’re like a ray of sunshine. It’s been an honor to know you and call you a friend.”
Why Susanna Reid Took a Hiatus from Good Morning Britain? It’s a customary practice for ITV’s leading presenters to take a well-deserved break during the summer months. Susanna bid farewell to viewers on July 19th and returned six weeks later.
During her absence, the show enlisted a roster of guest presenters, including Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh, and Charlotte Hawkins, along with the return of hosts Adil Ray and Rob Rinder. Rob Rinder, in particular, earned praise from viewers for his recent interview with Schools Minister Nick Gibb.
Typically, Susanna appears on the program from Monday to Thursday. For the first three days of the week, she pairs up with various co-presenters, including Ed Balls and Richard Madeley. On Thursdays, she shares the stage with Ben Shephard.
