David Hasselhoff – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2
Why did David Hasselhoff have a cameo in Guardians Of the Galaxy Vol. 2? Well, it all has to do with the writer/director James Gunn.
As a young man he was a huge fan of Knight Rider, which as you might know starred David Hasselhoff. So when James started working on Guardians Of the Galaxy, he had this dream to get his old idol Hasselhoff to play Peter Quill’s hero. The joke then was that Peter told friends his dad was in fact David Hasselhoff, who was always away because he was filming Knight Rider.
David Bowie – Zoolander
This cameo could not have been more perfect. Because in a silly comedy about male models, who better to judge a catwalk walk-off than the iconic David Bowie?
Bowie was known to break a lot of male fashion stereotypes, and was not scared to dress in ways that many people thought were feminine. As such he became not only a pop idol, but a fashion icon and rebel. So when he showed up in This scene on Zoolander, he truly played himself.
