Alexandra Billings is one of the most successful trans actresses in showbiz, having first rose to prominence back in 2005 playing a trans woman in made-for-TV movie Romy and Michele: In the Beginning.
Since then, Billings has gone on to star in a number of critically acclaimed roles, with appearances in shows such as Transparent, ER, Eli Stone, How to Get Away with Murder, and Grey’s Anatomy.
In recognition of her work in raising visibility and normalizing the existence of trans people in showbiz, Billings was awarded the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award in 2016.

During her career as a trans woman in MMA, Fox has faced much opposition against her competing opposite cis female athletes, but she hasn’t let it hold her back from success.
“I’m a transgender woman,” she wrote in a passionate op-ed for Bloody Elbow. “I deserve equal treatment and respect to other types of women.”
