Sharing Her Own Journey
She might’ve had to end her career earlier than expected due to medical issues, but she still finds herself on the court playing the game whenever she can. After all, she’s a fanatic for all sorts of sports – not just tennis.
Whether it’s to compete or for fun, she further expressed to Jimmy Fallon that “You don’t have to play professional or do it all the time, in general [sports are] amazing for your health.”
Over the years, she hasn’t just participated in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for the youth, but she’s also donated and participated in all sorts of international fundraisers, too.
Her Own Youth Struggles
Almost a decade before she became a parent herself, she revealed on The Graham Norton Show the truth about what it was like to be a traveling professional athlete at such a young age.
“I felt like because of me, my whole family moved to a different continent, and so I was supporting everybody, basically. Which back then I still had so much fun on the court. But looking back at it now, I would never do that to my kid.”
Kournikova understands the hardships her and her family endured when she was young, which is why she’s found such a deep connection to her cause to help the youth. And there’s no doubt that Iglesias and Kournikova have proven and shown how much they love and support their own kids, as well.
