The Final Step
Faris recalls how she told co-star Dan Fogler that she’s breaking up with Indra. Faris recalled how Fogler advised her: “Dan also told me that if I was going to leave my husband, I had to be a surgeon with a scalpel about it. Do it immediately and effectively, he said.”
And so she did. She didn’t draw it out or try to soften the blow. She simply broke up with with him, and didn’t look back.
She left Indra behind her, and looked to Chris in front.
Hard to Believe
Faris “felt like a villain” when she told Indra she was leaving him. “Even on the phone, I had to repeat myself a number of times before he took me at my word. “You’re just tired; you’re really tired,” he responded at first. I just said: “Nope, I’m leaving you.” And that was that,” she remembers.
Breaking up with your husband over the phone may seem cold – but there really is no good way to do it, and once the decision has been made, delaying the news would only serve to hurt him more.
