Hundred Acre Wood
The land that the foundation purchased is known as “Hundred Acre Wood”, and is full of all sorts of amenities for the chimpanzees.
This dedicated area includes 12 different sections: A chimp kitchen, a chimpanzee night house, offices, an outdoor mixing yard, the main house, a nursery, an area for team accommodations, visitor accommodations, a visitor center, a veterinary, quarantine facility and a workshop.
There’s no doubt that Jenny and Jimmy are exhilarated to see their dreams blossom and bloom.
And in fact, their work actually goes beyond the sanctuary.
Beyond the Sanctuary
Creating an amazing home for the chimps is just the start. The foundation’s official website states, “Because we believe all wildlife and animal welfare issues are interconnected, LCRP supports many related initiatives, including World Rabies Day, emerging disease research, vaccination and spay/neuter programs, wildlife regulation and legislation and conservation action planning for all protected species.”
How heart-warming! It’s so sweet to know that there are people out there who care about our little fuzzy friends. But did you know that you can be a part of it all, too?
