An Affair to Remember
On the surface, it appeared that Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Scurtis had the ideal marriage. Not only was he a huge superstar with legions of fans and millions of dollars in the bank, but he also had a loving wife and gorgeous baby daughter!
However, this glowing happiness was about to be rocked considerably when hairdresser Candice Houlihan came forward, alleging that she had had an affair with Rodriguez while Scurtis was pregnant.
As you can imagine, the media went wild for this story, following both parties round all the time, and putting considerable strain on A-Rod’s marriage.

That’s right—at this time, Rodriguez was still married to Scurtis, and Jennifer Lopez was still married to her fellow singing star Marc Anthony.
Anthony was in fact a huge Yankees fan, and so the couple attended a baseball game—where they met Rodriguez!
“We shook hands,” Lopez revealed years later to Sports Illustrated. “And it was this weird electricity for like three seconds.”
