Mega Star
Even though Rodriguez had fallen in love with Cynthia Scurtis, this didn’t mean he was so loved up that he would lose his focus and stop being one of the most successful and admired baseball players of the moment.
In fact, in 2001 he made history when he signed a contract with the Texas Rangers—because at $252 million, this was the highest paid contract in the sports history. Wow!
And they clearly didn’t waste a penny on him, as he led the American League in home runs for three years in a row.
Not long after that, A-Rod joined an even more prestigious team—the New York Yankees.
Wedding Bells
By this time, it seemed that things simply couldn’t get any better for Alex Rodriguez. Not only did he have one of the most successful baseball careers in the sport’s history, but he also had the admiration of the world, not to mention a great fortune.

She of course said yes, and the two were wed in a beautiful ceremony, before welcoming their first child, Natasha, in 2004.
It seemed that Rodriguez’s life was truly perfect—but there were secret struggles behind the scenes.
