Early Years
Alex Rodriguez was born in 1975 in Washington Heights, to Victor and Lourdes Rodriguez, who had moved over to America from the Dominican Republic.
As a young child, Rodriguez showed incredible aptitude for sports, and was so good that he skipped college baseball, heading straight to the pros when he signed with the Seattle Mariners at the age of 17.
He was clearly incredibly talented, and also full of charisma. Little did anyone know that both of these things would bring him fame—and also infamy—both on and off the field.
