Winning Regional and National Competitions
By the time she was at the sweet age of 16, Patrick had racked up all sorts of go-kart titles in both regional and national competitions. But the daring Danica wanted more than that.
Once the teenage competitor had finally reached the legal driving age, she felt like it was time to take things up a gear. After six years of competing in go-kart racing, she wanted to try her luck out with road racing – which was going to be quite a transition.
Goodbye Midwest, Hello Europe
During her teenage years, the daring Danica was making quite a name for herself in the national go-kart scene. But things were about to be taken to the next gear come the new millennium when Patrick decided to try out car racing.
The biggest difference between karts and cars is that the braking system is different, but that didn’t scare her. And not only was she ready to try out a different form of racing, but she was ready to do it on an international level.
So, by the late ‘90s, Danica was ready to say goodbye to the Midwest, and hello to Europe.
