Another Up and Down Year
The same way that 2005 was an up-and-down year, so was 2013. On one hand, she had just ended her marriage and relationship with her husband of over a decade – which is never easy, no matter how amicable the separation is — but on the other hand, she started to date a fellow famous driver, the studly Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
The two daring and dashing drivers were in a relationship for the next 5 years. But before the two speedsters hit a dead-end years later, Danica had been making all sorts of great leaps of achievements professionally throughout the mid-2010s.
Breaking the Glass Ceiling Time and Time Again
Another incredible “up” that occurred in 2013, was Danica’s record-breaking successes at the world-famous NASCAR Cup Series!
Not only did she set the fastest time in qualifying in the Daytona 500 race, but she then placed in the top 10! Her 8th place ranking also landed her another new title, the first woman to place that high in the “Great American Race”.
This big break with the NASCAR competitions, yet again, broke off even more pieces in the glass ceiling for competitive female drivers!
