Learning a Lot from Her Life Partner
Danica’s husband Paul worked with high-end athletes, so it’s safe to say he understood just how intense the press and public can get with personal lives. The two might’ve been secretive with their private life, but there’s no doubt that Hospenthal and Patrick shared a very special and strong bond.
While she would be on the road for her competitions, her husband was right there with her to support her. Not just that, but he taught her a lot financially, like how to handle her current income, as well as, retirement savings.
“He’s just an intelligent guy. I learned from him how to take care of things,” she shared with Today in February 2012.
A Mutually Sad Decision
Unfortunately, no matter how great two people can be together, that doesn’t always mean that a relationship will last and be successful. Sadly, in late 2012, the couple decided to separate.
Danica made an official announcement for her fans on Facebook stating, “I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage… This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”
