A Return to Form
In 2005, Lynda Carter was finally ready to return to her acting career in earnest. That year, she participated in two movies – Sky High and The Dukes of Hazzard – but it was perhaps her stage acting that was most notable.
“My son was going to be a senior in high school, and I was about to be an empty nester,” Carter said in an interview, explaining why she felt comfortable leaving the house and traveling to London, England, where she played Mama Morton in the musical Chicago on the West End.
And although playing Mama Morton was a return to acting, it was, more importantly, a return to singing in front of audiences.
Once More, With Feeling
It seems that after her children left home, Lynda Carter had decided to restart her career – and wasn’t afraid to face her superhero origins.
In 2007, she appeared as Moria Sullivan in an episode of the WB’s Smallville – a show about the younger years of another DC superhero; Superman.
Two years later, she released her first album in 31 years: At Last – a fitting title.
Over the next 6 years she would release two more albums, as well as participate in several television shows and two movies.
