Seizing the Opportunity
Johnson is one of the biggest action stars in the world, but he still remembers where he came from. His defeats defined him just as his victories did, and intends to seize the amazing opportunity that life threw his way.
“I grew up where, when a door closed, a window didn’t open. The only thing I had was cracks. I’d do everything to get through those cracks – scratch, claw, bite, push, bleed. Now the opportunity is here. The door is wide open and it’s as big as a garage,” Johnson concluded in an interview with Hollywood Reporter.
The Rock’s Ultimate Fear
Dwayne Johnson has shown us all that he’s capable of so much, including one of the hardest things in life—making his dreams come true in the best of ways.
But at the end of the day, The Rock is still human, and has his own fears to overcome, as well. One such fear, is Arachnophobia—fear of spiders—more specifically, Tarantulas.
“I’m not quite too sure where this [fear] came from. There wasn’t anything that happened in my past,” Johnson confessed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Yet, whether we understand why or not, the only way to get over your fear is to face it head on, and that’s exactly what he did. Back in the late 2000s, when appearing as a guest on Ellen, he had to encounter an actual tarantula.
Johnson conquered his fears of spiders in front of everyone, and held it!
