TV Success
Johnson’s football career might’ve been a failure, but he at least made it to the NFL in one of his many projects. His HBO series Ballers saw him portraying a retired NFL player turned financial manager who helps other players navigate their careers.
Johnson was drawn to this project because he saw it as an opportunity to embrace both the success and the failures that this seemingly glamorous world brings alone. It also made it possible for him to live the dream of being NFL player – at least on the small screen.
Impressive Filmography
As years went by, Johnson kept adding amazing projects to his resume. The Fast & Furious series was thriving and he got a chance to show us his comedic chops with the roles in Central Intelligence and the Jumanji reboot, which spawned another franchise.
Johnson also led several movies that proved Hollywood executives he’s a star they can count on to bring in big profits. Rampage, Skyscraper, and Baywatch were all produced through his company Seven Bucks Productions, named after the amount of cash he had left after his football career was over.
