Not Money Driven
Johnson’s transition to acting was never driven by a hope he’s going to make tons of money. He could’ve done that by staying at WWE, but he came to Hollywood looking for a career that had longevity.
“I wasn’t driven by money as much as I was driven by making a successful transition. I was smart enough to know that I certainly didn’t have all the answers and I needed to surround myself with smart people and be willing to take risks and be willing to fail,” Johnson told Esquire.
Better Opportunities
Even at his lowest points, The Rock never gave up on himself, and he wasn’t about to do that now. He felt there were bigger and better opportunities waiting for him – and dreamed of starring in multiple franchises in different genres. All he had to do now was surround himself with people who shared the same kind of drive. He was no stranger to failure, and he was ready to go through it again if necessary – but if he failed, he was going to fail swinging for the fences.
