Tom Brady wasn’t Bündchen’s first celebrity boyfriend. She actually spent five years dating Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio.
She opened up about this experience in her book Lessons: My Path to a Beautiful Life. Bündchen revealed she ended this relationship because she wanted to stop numbing herself and do “some serious soul-searching”, but she harbored no hard feelings towards her ex.
“Everyone who crosses our path is a teacher, they come into our lives to show us something about ourselves. And I think that’s what he was. What is good versus bad? I honor him for what he was,” the model explained.
Perfect Match
Many people felt that Bündchen and DiCaprio were a match made in heaven, but she was actually going through a hard time during their relationship and felt she couldn’t open up about her struggles.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel didn’t have the same problem with Brady, and she finally found someone she can count on in him. She quickly left her past behind, and started building a healthy life with famous quarterback, who provided her and their growing family with a stable foundation.
