Adjusting to Motherhood
Bündchen is still one of the most recognizable supermodels in the world, but after giving birth to her children, she decided to slow down a little.
Her kids became her no. 1 priority and she takes a lot of pride in being a mom. “If I ever hear someone saying, ‘She’s just a mom,’ it makes me angry. Being ‘just a mom’ is the foundation of everything. Being ‘just a mom’ ensures that our children have the foundation and support they need to succeed not just at work but at life,” she wrote in her memoire.
Environmental Work
In addition to finding success in the modeling world, Gisele dedicated a lot of her time to her charity work, most of it connected to environmental causes.
She became aware of the devastation that deforestation and pollution led to in her home country of Brazil back in 2004 and hasn’t stopped fighting to combat this issue ever since.
Five years later, she received a Global Environmental Citizen Award from Harvard in recognition of her eco-efforts. In 2012, she went back to her home country to help plant the first of a series of 50,000 trees in Rio de Janeiro.
