Who Run the World?
Out of Nadya’s 14 children, only four of them are girls: Amerah (16), Calyssa (11), and the twins Maliah and Nariyah (9).
Because they’re such a small group of girls in a house full of boys, Nadya and the girls share a special bond. Nadya tries to have “girl time” and “boy time” every week, but actually likes it best when the entire family can hang out together – something that, as the years go by, happens less and less often.
Family Fun Night
With such a large household, structure is really important, and one way in which Nadya instills structure is through family traditions.
One important family tradition is “Family Fun Night”; every Saturday night, Nadya gets the family together to spend quality time watching movies, talking and playing board games.
Some of the family’s favorite activities are chess – and watching Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.
Today, the older kids often go out with friends instead of staying home, but the ten youngest Solomon Family siblings still love Family Fun Night!
