Preparing for the Worst
The Herrin parents did what any scared parents would do—they loved their kids even harder and spent quality family time together to make the week leading up to the surgery the best one these girls had ever had.
“The week before we were admitted to the hospital, before our separation, we did family stuff…” Kendra explained. “Just all the fun family things we could just in case we couldn’t do those things anymore,” she continued. They went to the zoo and their family’s pool, just to be with each other. And then, finally, the day came to go to the hospital.
