The Months Before
The Herrens prepared their daughters before they headed to the hospital for the life-changing surgery. And the nurses did their best to ease the girls and make sure they felt cared for.
“In the months before they separated us the hospital treated us like royalty. We had our own playroom, we had dolls…We also got nurse badges too,” the twins said. The nurses clearly had a soft spot for these girls, which helped ease a bit of their pain as they began to prepare for the surgery months before.
