Advocacy and Inclusion
With the attention their story has gotten, the Herrins have found an opportunity to use their voice for advocacy and inclusion. They welcome questions and they’re very open about their medical history and limitations.
“Don’t be afraid to talk to someone. Don’t stare at them. Ask them if it’s OK to ask what happened. But be respectful about it,” Kendra told The Associated Press. They support Stand Up for Kindness and the Orange Socks initiatives to help advocate for individuals with disabilities.
