Unfortunately, ten years later, Maliyah’s body rejected her mom’s kidney, so Maliyah was put back on dialysis, which, according to the National Kidney Foundation, is a treatment that does the work of your kidneys when they aren’t working. It was unclear what would happen to Maliyah and how long she would have to continue these treatments.
