The Day Came
One week before the actual date of the scheduled surgery the girls were driven to the hospital, so they could get situated in a hospital room and the nurses and doctors could get acquainted with them.
Time passed by quickly—it was finally time for “Cut Apart Day”. The only thing the Herrins felt was anxiety and fear. Kendra would explain later that “everyone broke down crying,” especially as they began to roll the girls toward the surgery room.
