The Kids Aren’t All Right
As Arnelle was the oldest of all of the Simpson kids, a lot of the responsibility fell to her when it came to looking after her younger siblings. Of course, her parents’ families both did what they could to support them, but the early years of Arnelle’s adulthood were still very much taken up with looking after her bereaved younger siblings.
Though we are sure that they appreciated it, the responsibility was clearly too much for Arnelle, who was under too much pressure to process her own grief properly.
