No Suspicions
In the official release, the RCMP announced that they had no reason to believe that the case was suspicious and there was no evidence pointing to criminal activity. This had been a tragic accident leading to a decades-long mystery that had now, finally, been solved.
Although the news was still deeply upsetting, it was a comfort to the Farris family that Janet had passed away in an accident rather than at the hands of a criminal.
Years of Torment
When you’ve never experienced the disappearance of a loved one, it’s hard to imagine the torment that comes with not knowing what happened. “After the first year, you just carry on. You come to live with it,” Janet Farris’ son George told CTV News Vancouver.
Max also recognized the suffering of the Farris family. “I couldn’t imagine for that many years, not understanding what happened to a love one,” he shared with the news outlet.
