Team Effort
Sure enough, three days later on August 24th, 2019, the RCMP returned with a team of specialist underwater recovery divers and a tow truck. Because of Max’s video, they knew exactly what they needed for the retrieval operation and where to find the car.
The divers secured the tow chain to the submerged vehicle and attached it to the tow truck. Slowly, inch by inch, the car began to emerge from the lake. Max and Nancy watched as the police team carried out their work.
The Car
Slimy, muddy, and rusted, the car was dragged onto the bank of the lake. The car was later identified as an older model Honda Accord. It looked like it had been in the lake for a long time.
Luckily, the license plate was still visible, meaning the police would quickly be able to search vehicle registration records to find out to whom the car belonged. However, it turned out that the car wasn’t the one discovery to be made that day.
