Shocking Revelation
“He said to us, ‘Well, no actually, pretty sure that vehicle was retrieved out of the lake, so we need to investigate this further,’” Nancy Werenka said in an interview with The Washington Post.
If the vehicle belonging to the four rescued people had been removed from the lake, then where had this other one come from? Realizing that this could be evidence of another crime, the officer called his station to dispatch some more officers to Griffin Lake. The Werenkas had made a chance discovery and now the Mounties were on their way to investigate. Just what had they stumbled upon?
Leading the Mounties
The group of officers arrived on the scene. Max led them to the best vantage point from which to view the car, about 10 feet away from the section of the lake’s Western shore closest to the highway.
The weather was cloudier than it had been the day before and it was impossible to see into the lake’s murky depths. The officers couldn’t see a few feet below the surface, let alone all the way down to the lake bed. Suddenly, Max had an idea.
