U/millafarrodor: “My grandfather passed last spring. I found out he’d been verbally and sometimes physically attacking his four sons, and the same with my grandmother their whole marriage. My grandmother had been making plans to leave him with my father and uncles’ help when he fell and broke his back, so she stayed with him until he passed a few months later.
All of this was hidden from myself and the rest of the grandkids. My mom quietly told me a few days after the funeral. I’m concerned she only told me because my father may be doing the same to her, but she denied it when I asked.”
