The hairdressers could’ve taken the easier course of action and shaved or cut the girl’s hair. But her smile at the end of the haircut made everything worth it. Thirteen hours of hard work, vulnerability, and kindness allowed this girl to feel much more beautiful than she expected.
Olsson was so excited to see her emotional response. She too was emotional and told BBC News, “We finally made this beautiful girl smile and feel like she IS worth something!” And that is priceless. This story touched Olsson so much, she decided she wasn’t done.
