Not all of the rules of life are going to be fair, and it’s sad that appearance seems to be such an important factor—they do say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, after all.
But if you really think about it, a lot of the times appearance is significant because taking care of yourself shows that you’re in a healthy place emotionally. Because of this, Jose was able to finally get his life back on track and eventually find a home.
