Cillian Murphy turned heads at the premiere of his latest film, revealing a surprising new look. The actor traded in his signature dark hair for a striking blonde style that left many fans in shock.
This bold change highlighted Murphy’s bright blue eyes and strong bone structure. The 48-year-old debuted his new hair on Thursday night at the premiere of Small Things Like These, where he was joined by co-stars Emily Watson and Eileen Walsh. He complemented his fresh appearance with a burnt orange jacket, a gray-green collared shirt, and black trousers, giving him a youthful and stylish look.
Small Things Like These, which is set to release on November 1, is adapted from Claire Keegan’s novel. The film explores the notorious Magdalene laundries in Ireland.
According to the film’s synopsis, “As Christmas approaches in 1985, coal merchant Bill Furlong uncovers a shocking secret at a local convent that forces him to confront hidden truths in the Irish town of New Ross.” Murphy plays the role of Bill Furlong, a father who discovers “disturbing secrets” about the convent, which leads him to uncover truths about his own past, as noted on IMDb.
In addition to starring, Murphy also served as a producer on the film, collaborating with Good Will Hunting actor Matt Damon.
Recently, Cillian stirred excitement among fans with new photos from the set of the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, set to premiere next year. The acclaimed Netflix series, which aired for six seasons and gained a dedicated following, will return with The Immortal Man, following Cillian’s character, Tommy Shelby, on a new adventure.
The film will feature stars like Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson. Original creator Steven Knight and director Tom Harper, who worked on the series, have also returned.
In June, Cillian shared his thoughts with Deadline, stating, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me.” He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reunite with Knight and Harper for the film, emphasizing that it is “one for the fans.”
