Meghan Markle showcased her fresh hair color at a public event over the weekend in Los Angeles. The Duchess of Sussex traded her sleek light brown hair for trendy mermaid waves, opting for a dark brown hue.
At 43, Meghan enlisted the help of her team of “hippy hairdressers” to achieve her stunning new look. She debuted the hairstyle at a gala benefiting a children’s hospital in Los Angeles. For the event, the mother of two wore a red Carolina Herrera gown, which she had previously worn during a Veterans Day event in New York in 2021. This time, she chose to remove the voluminous overskirt for a more streamlined appearance.
Following the gala, the High Brow Hippie Salon, which styled Meghan’s hair for the ESPN Espy Awards in July and the Invictus Games in February, praised their high-profile client on Instagram. The salon shared photos of Meghan walking hand-in-hand with Kelly McKee Zajfen on the red carpet. Their post read, “Glowing and gorgeous friends Kelly and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, attending Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala.” It also confirmed that Meghan had dyed her hair for the special occasion.
Kadi Lee, the stylist responsible for Meghan’s new color, is a longtime friend of the duchess. She co-founded the High Brow Hippie Salon in 2019 with Myka Harris. The salon’s Instagram post received over 1,020 likes within 15 hours, with Meghan’s close friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin, commenting, “Gorgeous as always.”
Located in the bohemian neighborhood of Venice, Los Angeles, the salon has attracted a roster of celebrity clients, including Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Hurley, Kristin Davis, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
In May 2023, the salon revealed that Meghan had scheduled a hair coloring session with Kadi Lee ahead of the Women of Vision awards in New York. Lee, who charges $550 (£420) for a full Balayage, hinted that Meghan visits the salon regularly for gloss treatments to keep her hair healthy.
