BLACKFOOT — A new hair salon, Cut N Run Hair Co., has opened its doors in Blackfoot, focusing on providing customers with consistent, high-quality haircuts.
Owner Tami Murdock has dreamed of opening her own salon since she began her career in cosmetology in 1997. “I’ve worked in every position in the beauty industry,” Murdock said. “I was a hair stylist and a beauty consultant. I’ve done everything there is to do.”
What sets Cut N Run apart from other salons is its walk-in policy and online check-in system. “It’s totally different from any other salon,” Murdock noted. “We’re kind of a niche salon.”
Another unique feature of Cut N Run is its advanced computer system. When a customer comes in for a haircut, the details of that cut are recorded. When they return, the system retrieves their previous haircut information. “You never have to wonder if you’re going to get the same haircut again,” Murdock explained.
The stylists at Cut N Run are experienced professionals whom Murdock has worked with over the years. “Everyone is the best that I have worked with or known,” she said, highlighting the salon’s commitment to quality.
Cut N Run aims to support the Blackfoot community by offering discounts on specific days of the week. “Mondays are veterans’ day, Tuesdays are senior day, Wednesdays are first responder day, and Thursdays are for teachers and students,” Murdock detailed.
The salon also provides a hair and scalp analysis service. Customers can consult with Murdock, who will help them find the best products for their scalp care. “We teach you how to take care of your scalp and hair,” she emphasized. “I know every hair product that is out there and what they do.”
Murdock envisions her salon as a welcoming space for the community. “If we’re having a conversation and any gossip comes up, we change the subject,” she stated. “We want everyone to feel comfortable coming back.”
Additionally, Murdock hopes Cut N Run will engage in local events and support other businesses. “We are a community-connecting space,” she said. “We can grow Blackfoot as a whole into the best it can be.”
Everything in the salon, from mirrors to security systems, was sourced from Southeast Idaho. Murdock collaborated with local artists to showcase their work, stating, “We wanted to grow our local community. We wanted to prove you can buy anything in Southeast Idaho.”
Murdock looks forward to helping her clients look and feel their best. “I love to give to the community and my guests,” she said. “This is a vehicle for me to give love and accept love.”
