Amidst the glitz and glamour of the recent GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards, model and Squish Beauty founder Charli Howard’s appearance stole the spotlight as she graced the red carpet in a striking outfit, drawing inspiration from the iconic strength of Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider character.
Howard’s captivating thigh-length braid, intricately woven with metallic cord and elegantly parted down the center, perfectly complemented her form-fitting, sculptural gown, evoking a potent blend of goddess-like grace and fierce warrior energy.
“I wanted to celebrate the female form,” Howard explained, referencing the theme of the event. “I just kept thinking of Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider poster, so I wanted a long plait. I wanted to feel like a goddess,” she further shared, shedding light on the creative process behind her stunning hairstyle, masterfully crafted by renowned hairdresser Liam Curran.
In addition to the captivating ensemble, Howard didn’t hold back on sharing the details of her attire, unveiling that her top was a creation by Cameron Hancock, while her skirt hailed from the talented British designer Jill Halfpenny.
Unsurprisingly, being a beauty industry maven herself, Howard’s makeup game was equally on point. She adorned her features with dramatic feline-lined eyes, accentuated by voluminous lashes and a vintage-inspired color palette. “It’s a bit seventies. I love vintage styles. I added a bit of white eyeshadow as I knew GLAMOUR is all about makeup and I wanted to come through with that,” she revealed, showcasing her meticulous attention to detail.
Behind the scenes, Howard generously shared her beauty secrets, emphasizing the effectiveness of using clear soap and a toothbrush to groom eyebrows, and the surprising efficacy of strawberries for naturally whitening teeth. Furthermore, she unveiled her go-to products, including Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation, Bioderma’s micellar water, Tom Ford’s black eyeliner, and the ever-reliable Carmex for luscious lips.
Emphasizing the importance of nurturing mental well-being, Howard imparted invaluable advice to her younger self, urging to “block out the haters” and surround oneself with positive influences. “Mental health is so important, and I’m such an advocate of looking after your mind. You’ve only got one body, and you have to look after it. So just surround yourself with positive people,” she asserted, emphasizing the significance of self-care and a supportive environment.
Charli Howard’s remarkable appearance at the GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards undoubtedly encapsulated a fusion of elegance, strength, and empowering femininity, leaving a lasting impression and setting a high bar for red carpet sophistication and style.
