Katie Maloney, known for her adventurous spirit when it comes to her appearance, has once again surprised us with a bold and daring change. Throughout the years, the Vanderpump Rules star has flirted with various hair colors and lengths, continually evolving her style. Recently, she’s been leaning towards shorter, edgier looks, the latest being a pixie cut that pays homage to Natalie Imbruglia’s iconic 1997 music video for “Torn.”
In the past, she’s even dabbled with being a blonde, though that phase was relatively short-lived. Back in Season 2, Katie ventured into the world of blondes, expressing her desire to become a platinum blonde one day. “I would like to experiment with hair color more,” she mentioned in a 2015 interview with StyleCaster.
Now, it appears Katie is ready to embark on a new hair color adventure. She recently took to her Instagram Stories to unveil a striking transformation that left us captivated.
On September 12, while at home, Katie stumbled upon a temporary color styling gel in her beauty stash. Holding up the bright red hair dye in her hand, she excitedly shared her experiment, saying, “So earlier I was cleaning out some products, and I found this temporary color styling gel […] and it’s red. It’s supposed to work on brunette hair … so let’s see!” The vivid red hue of the dye was hard to miss.
“This is what we’re left with,” Katie noted in a subsequent Story, revealing her work in progress and the emergence of the rich red color. She continued, “You can’t even see the proper color. It just looks like orange or copper-y, but… it’s just wet and stiff right now, but when it air dries you’re supposed to break up the casting on it or whatever… OK!”
In addition to her stunning hair transformation, Katie has been sharing her fashion-forward beauty choices on Instagram throughout the summer. She recently showcased an exquisite manicure while celebrating her friend Lala Kent’s early birthday at Bathtub Gin in Los Angeles.
With her impeccable sense of style, Katie flaunted almond-shaped nails with a soft pink/beige background adorned with elegant silver swirls. The finishing touch was the round silver embellishments at the center of each nail, providing an extra layer of sophistication. She credited the press-on nail company Quickies for her convenient and chic manicure.
