Lizzo Unveils Vibrant New Hairstyle Amidst Rising Controversy

by Barbara

As the summer season winds down, Lizzo, the 35-year-old singer, has decided to make a bold style statement with a stunning new hairdo.

Taking to Instagram, Lizzo showcased her latest eye-catching hairstyle – a platinum blonde bob adorned with pink tips and longer sections that flowed into a fashionable mullet. The Michigan-born artist added a playful touch by using an octopus emoji in her caption, referencing the trending “Octopus Hair” style, which bears a resemblance to octopus tentacles with its mullet-like layers. However, her celebrity hairstylist, Shelbeniece Swain, referred to the look as “Jellyfish Hair,” featuring a similar trend but with more defined, blunt layers.

In a gallery of pictures shared by Swain, Lizzo confidently flaunted her new hair while sporting a coordinated metallic outfit, complete with a bandeau top, wide-legged pants, and an artful purse.

To celebrate her fresh hairstyle, Lizzo posted a short video on Instagram where she grooved to the rhythm of “Bobby B-” by Bobby Shmurda, captioning the clip with a playful nod: “The bob is bobbing.”

This transformation arrived amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding a lawsuit filed against Lizzo. Three of her former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, have accused her of sexual, racial, and religious harassment, as well as creating a hostile work environment. The lawsuit, presented by the plaintiffs’ law firm, was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Lizzo, along with her production company (Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc.) and dance team captain (Shirlene Quigley), were named in the legal papers.

Lizzo’s attorney, Marty Singer, has countered these allegations, stating that she plans to file a countersuit due to the plaintiffs’ alleged hypocritical behavior. Singer has shared photos and videos purportedly showing the plaintiffs “happily cavorting backstage” with performers from Crazy Horse’s topless cabaret show in Paris, contradicting their claims of being pressured into attending such performances during Lizzo’s tour.

Singer confidently asserts, “These indisputable photos and videos, along with substantial additional evidence, expose the glaring contradictions between the plaintiffs’ baseless lawsuit and the actual facts. The lawsuit lacks merit, and Lizzo intends to pursue a malicious prosecution claim once these unfounded allegations are dismissed.”

In response to the lawsuit, Lizzo had previously taken to social media, expressing her disbelief at the allegations and emphasizing that she is “not the villain” in this situation. She acknowledged the difficulty and disappointment of the situation and defended her work ethic, morals, and character, emphasizing that the claims against her were simply too outlandish to go unaddressed.
